An important message to all of our customers.
The UK government announced a second national lockdown in England on Saturday evening, forcing many retail and hospitality businesses to close sites this week however Estate Agents and the Housing Market can remain open for the time being.
In these worrying and cautious times, we at Hugh F Shaw remain committed to serving our customers and clients who may need to move, buy or rent either now or in the coming weeks and months.
As a result of Lockdown 1 back in May, we upgraded our office systems and procedures both in-house and externally and as result can continue to provide our range of professional property services and communications without interuptions. There may however be some inevitable delays with legal conveyancing, contractor visits, inventory-clerks etc whilst we all navigate our way through this together.
We are offering virtual property tours where possible on our properties for sale and rent and/or social distancing physical viewings with limited numbers present.
Our office will remain open with continued regular deep sanitisation and ALL customers wishing to enter being required to wear a face mask and no more than two visitors at a time.

Lower ground floor flats are not always that bad and in many cases offer a surprising and pleasing option when purchasing a property in Central London. There are in fact a number of advantages....
Somtimes you get slightly more space for slightly less money than you may pay for a flat on an upper floor of the building. Many basement flats (not all) have their own entrance and often have a useful storage area under the front steps of the house.
Depending on the building’s architecture, the basement flat can sometimes have direct access to the patio/garden at the back of the building. These outside spaces can be both private or communal.
Contrary to belief, basement flats are not all gloomy. Many have large windows allowing natural light to filter in.
Basement flats can be a good option to consider if you are seeking that little bit of extra space, private entrance and outside space which in today’s world has become so important. You may even get some decent natural too!
